Relief on the 10th

The rule states “During play on the 10th hole only, if any protective fence is in the players line of play and the ball is nearer to the pin than the drop zone marker, the player may take free relief by dropping a ball in and playing it from the allocated drop zone near the women's 10th tee.”

The key points are:

  • Your ball must be closer to the 10th pin than the drop zone marker
  • The protective fence must be in your line of sight to the hole.

Memories.....

Whilst looking for the photo for relief on the 10th hole, we came across the winning photo for best lock down hair during COVID. Brad Crowley was the clear winner and we thought it was worth a re-run.

When your score is ‘Super’

Did you know that one of the changes when Golf Australia adopted the World Handicapping rules in 2019 was the introduction of ‘Super Scores’?

‘Super Scores’ deduct additional strokes from your handicap and there are 2 levels of ‘Super Scores’.

  • If you have a score 7 - 9 shots better than your handicap, 1 shot is automatically deducted from your handicap and then the score is applied to reduce it further. This happened to Sam Green on Saturday who had 44 points and his handicap went from 20.3 to 17.9.

  • If you have 10 shots better than your handicap, 2 shots are automatically deducted and then the score is applied to reduce it further.

There's a price for being amazing!!

Divot Drive

With the course in such good condition, there is a good chance preferred lies may be removed earlier than usual this year. We ask all Members make a concerted effort to fill in any divots they see.
